Q1) How do I add time to an active lease?
A1) Use the 'addtime' menu option or command. For example, "addtime 3weeks 5 hours". You can also set the remaining time directly with the "timeleft" command, such as "timeleft 4months".
Q2) When I rezz it, it says that it needs to take Linden dollars from my account! Why?
A2) This is the standard SL "debt permission" dialog. Your right to question this, since answering "Grant" gives the scripts permission to pay other people from your SL balance. The auto-lease, like many other devices dealing in L$ in SL, requires this permission so that it can pay change, refund invalid payments and credit your Apez.bank account. Only answer "Grant" if you trust us and you know the auto-lease is authentic (- it should list the creator as "ApezCreator Tomorrow"). If you deny the request some functions won't work correctly.
Q3) Why does the auto-lease pay Apez Mann when it is paid by a tenant?
A3) The auto-lease has a "linked account" setting. By default all lease payments made either in-world or online are credited to your Apez.bank working account. That is achieved by paying the amount to the bank's 'funds-holder' avatar, Apez Mann. You can also set it to the special account "avatar", which will keep all the payments in-world with your SL avatar (as the v2.x series did), but that limits the possibilities for revenue sharing etc that are available with online payment handling.
Q4) How can I share the lease revenue with my friends?
A4) Go online to the Apez.groups page and create a Apez group. Add all the people you want to share the revenue with to that group. Set percentages if you don't want it split evenly. Then, go to the detail page for the 'location' (edit icon in the table on the top of the spaces page) and select that group as the "revenue sharing" group.
Q5) How can I have the auto-lease removed from the site when I delete it in-world?
A5) Instead of deleting it directly using Edit, touh it and issue the "delete!" command. The unit will unregister itself and then delete itself. Be very careful using this command, since if you've touched any other units within chat range rcently, they'll delete themselves too! Go practice to say "done" in chat before touching and issuing "delete!" just to be sure.
Q6) My auto-lease has stopped responding, how can I fix that?
OR My auto-lease seems to be out-of-sync with the web-site, why?
A6) Unfortunately, in SL sometimes scripts can just stop running for no good reason or crash due to being out-of-memory due to SL 'memory-leak' bugs. A unit may also become out-of-sync if there are severe communication or network issues effecting the grid (or the Apez servers). This can always be fixed by 'hard-resetiing' the unit. Just Edit it using the SL pie menu, the use the Tools menu option "reset all scripts in selection'. The unit will re-register with the Apez site and downloads it's correct state.
Q7) My auto-lease used to be on the web-site, but now it has gone, why?
A7) This is similar to Q5 and is also caused by grid 'issues'. Due to a prolonged inability of the Apez server to contact it in-world, it assumes it had been deleted and removed it from the server database. Try using the "update" chat command. That will send the current in-world state to the server and have it re-listed.
Q8) How do I know if I have the full-priced/non-commission version or the free/commission version?
A8) When you touch the auto-lease, the 'owner menu' displays the model name on the top of the menu. It will read something like "Apez.auto-lease v3.0FL". In this case, the "FL" means "Full version". If instead is says "FR" that means "Free version" (in which case it will charge 4% of lease revenue).
Q9) Can I deed the auto-lease to my group?
A9) No. The auto-lease needs "debt" permission to be able to pay back change, refund invalid payments and to credit your Apez.bank account. Currently, in SL, groups cannot pay via scripts.
